Ever since the breakout of anti-Japanese war, Lanzhou, a city located in the rear area of China, had suffered four years of frequent bombings from the Japanese army. The Chinese Air Force and Soviet Aid to China Volunteer Force fought fiercely with the Japanese army in the sky above Lanzhou. They both performed immortal feats in defending Lanzhou and made geat contibution for the victoy of anti-Japanese war. The documentory of The Air Battle over Lanzhou, in a story-telling style, gave an account of the background, course and significance of the Air Battle over Lanzhou.
