In the documentary film “Return of the Lotus-Born Master” award-winning director Laurence Brahm (龙安志) leads an unprecedented expedition to explore the hidden realms of Bhutan, searching for the secret teachings of the Lotus-Born Master that can lead us to a future called Shambhala. The “Lotus-Born Master” (莲花生大士) lived in the Eighth Century, his life shrouded in mystery and legend, hiding his teachings in these hidden realms to be uncovered in the future by psychic lamas. This documentary film brings us to these hidden realms with unprecedented footage. The filming of Return of the Lotus-Born Master is historically a breakthrough as it is the first time that a Chinese film team has been given access to film in Bhutan.
