At the end of Anti Japanese War in 1945,Lin Bo'er was forced to stay in Hong Kong with her stepmother.She started her performance as an extra with the help of Zhou Yinan and his uncle,and worked very hard for her success.It happened that an overseas Hokkien director came to Hong Kong to make Amoi films.Owing to her Nanyin background and acting skills,Lin Bo'er won the leading role in the film.Her excellent performance made a hit and moved countless overseas Chinese.Thus she was called"Dan Hou"(Opera Queen)by the folks in Nanyang.Lin Bo'er returned to hers hometown when she was very old,but Nanyin of hometown was still in her heart.
